Beardy’s site demolished to make way for new restaurants

The former Beardy’s Bar and Kitchen site has been demolished to make way for two new takeaway outlets.

Heavy machinery is in action at the site this morning picking up the building’s ruins and placing them in a large bin.

Owners Lee and Ross Willson found out in May that Beardy’s would have to move, after the property’s owners filed a development application for the Elizabeth Ave, Kippa-Ring site the popular burger joint called home for five years.

The owners had hoped to move to a new location but rising costs and other factors made reopening unviable.

They served their last burgers on July 10.

Replacing Beardy’s will be Mexican fast food chain Guzyman Y Gomez, and a burger chain called Slim’s Quality Burger.

According to the Slim’s Quality Burger website, the business currently has three stores in New South Wales – Mt Druitt, Sydney and Marrickville.

Their menu includes 11 types of burgers, including Slim’s Original – filled with Angus beef, grilled onion, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and Slim’s spread.

Fresh cut loaded fries, chicken fingers, a garden salad, sundaes, cold drinks and thick shakes are also on the menu.

Moreton Daily reached out to Slim’s Quality Burger via their website and social media channels for comment but has not yet received a response. We’ll keep chasing to find out more.
