Bishopp Award for Marketing Excellence ‘an honour’

A company born out of COVID lockdowns won the Bishopp Award for Marketing Excellence at the 2022 Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards on Friday night.

Cashmere Syrups marketing director Jacob Dryer said winning the award meant a great deal.

“Cashmere Syrups was only born at the start of 2020 and this is the first recognition at an awards level that we have received,” Jacob said.

“To receive that kind of recognition in a very prestigious competition is a huge honour and we’re super appreciative of everyone here.”

The Marketing Excellence category recognises exemplary marketing initiatives that seek to elevate and advance the business, industry and/or the community the organisation operates within.

Direct sales

Brendale-based Cashmere Syrups is a product of The Rainbow Syrup Company, which has produced slushie concentrates, coffee syrups and cocktail bases for cafes, restaurants, theme parks, schools, and markets across Australia for almost 20 years.

“Before 2020, RSC primarily focused on wholesale and events, but with lockdowns and everything else going on that year, we found that this line of business was greatly impacted,” Cashmere Syrups’ website says.

“We knew we needed to do something different, so we dipped our toes into selling directly online - and Cashmere Syrups was born.”

Since May 2020, they have taken more than 65,000 orders online.

The company produces gourmet syrups for coffee, cocktails and iced tea, as well as scented candles.

There were 68 finalists and the winners were decided by a panel of 44 judges from a mix of public and private sector organisations from across South East Queensland.

The 2022 Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards were presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council and delivered by Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT).
