Business helping business brekky

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay will host the first Moreton Bay: Businesses Helping Businesses breakfast event on November 17.

The event, to be held at North Lakes Hotel from 7-9am, aims to support businesses that help other businesses.

RDA Moreton Bay CEO Julia Callaghan says this relationship between businesses is important to the growth of other businesses and the regional economy.

“We really want to support them, when they put so much energy to helping others. Having this event, where they can meet the people involved in the free government services all in one place, is one way we can help them,” Julia says.

This event will feature industry-leading guest speakers, who will introduce participants to free government services available to businesses in the Moreton Bay Region which can help them and their clients prosper and grow.

The free online services to be covered are:

• Funding Finder – a portal that sends information about suitable grants direct to business owners’ inboxes

• Ask Morty – an easy-to-use chatbot, designed to help small businesses with marketing decisions and grant application information

• UniSC Business Planning Course - a free course delivered in two-hour sessions over eight weeks

In addition to introducing the free services, RDA Moreton Bay will facilitate the exchange of tips on the use of digital tools and outsourcing; and accessing and retaining talent for businesses to prosper.

Participants will also have the opportunity to meet local contacts for programs provided free by AusIndustry and the Queensland Department of Small Business and Training.
