Celebrating with The Book of Dad
Morayfield resident John Waugh, pictured above, is part of a special Father’s Day book being produced by Serenitas over 50 lifestyle communities.
The Book of Dad will be given to homeowners in Serenitas’ resorts and villages on Sunday sharing participants’ memories of their fathers, best dad jokes and fatherly tips.
Serenitas CEO Rob Nichols said it will “celebrate the many different ways dads are active and influential in our lives, underpinned by good humour”.
Mr Waugh, who lives at the Thyme Lifestyle Resort Moreton Bay, is a father of two – Joshua and Jessica - and a grandfather.

In his feature Mr Waugh recalls how Joshua, now grown up and living in Seattle, would help his father cut the grass by pushing a small plastic mower.
Mr Waugh also played more than 300 games for the Brothers’ Rugby Club in Sydney and cheering from the sidelines was Joshua.
The family lived in North Queensland, then Redcliffe and Bribie Island, before Mr Waugh and wife Joann moved to their current home in Morayfield.
“We’re so lucky to have (daughter) Jessica and her partner living only five minutes away,” he said.
“We get to see our gorgeous grandson and daughter often, with another grandson on the way in October.”
The Book of Dad may help Mr Waugh with a few new jokes for his second grandchild. The best jokes published are:

The Book of Dad follows the success of Serenitas’ Mother’s Day cookbook and recognises the importance of fathers in our lives.
“It’s a way we can say thank you to those dads still with us and pay tribute to those whose memories are etched forever,” Serenitas CEO Rob Nichols said.
