Charges follow assault at Deception Bay

Police have charged a man following an alleged wounding incident in Deception Bay yesterday afternoon.

It is alleged about 12.45pm a man struck a man multiple times to the head with a bladed weapon at a business at Bailey Rd before leaving the scene in a vehicle.

A witness was able to supply police with the details of the vehicle which was subsequently found in Lockyer St, Deception Bay.

Police located a man a short time later hiding under a house.

The 29-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of possession of dangerous drug (methylamphetamine and cannabis) and one count each of possession of drug utensil (glass pipe) and unlicensed driving.

He is expected to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court this morning, January 12.

The 41-year-old male victim was not known to the other man and received a large cut to the side of his head and lacerations to his fingers. He was taken to Redcliffe Hospital.
