Local Kippa-Ring business, Dynamic Bradview Roofing significantly exceeded its fundraising efforts from last year, supporting the Black Dog Institute’s One Foot Forward campaign for Australians struggling with their mental health.

In October last year, Dynamic Bradview Roofing raised $46,000, as 21 team members covered more than 4000km of walking, running and cycling.

This year, Dynamic Bradview Roofing raised a staggering $86,429, this time with 35 team members.

With a combined total of 2,928km of walking, running and jogging – organiser Sharon McTague says the team approached the fundraising a bit differently this year.

“The team and I reached out to our family, friends, teammates, suppliers, builders and subcontractors and told them we were raising money for mental health,” Sharon says.

Sharon told Moreton Daily last year that it’s up to each team member to choose their level of activity and goal for the month.

“It’s about getting active. Each person picked their goal amount of steps/activity,” Sharon explains.

“We’ve been getting so many people open up about their own mental health issues. These people have never spoken about it before.

“It’s mind-blowing. It’s exceeded what I ever imagined it would be.”

This year, Sharon says the team wanted to be better and achieve more.

“Our original goal was just to beat what we had achieved the year before, which was $46,000,” Sharon says.

“We are all amazed (by the results), we pretty much have no words to describe the feeling.”
