Forum, high tea to celebrate International Women’s Day

Soroptimist International Moreton North Inc (SIMNI) will host its 10th annual Be Inspired Forum at North Lakes Hotel on Sunday, March 6.

The forum is on from 1-3.30pm and will feature a Q&A In Conversation panel discussion with four high-profile women including Moreton Bay Regional Council Deputy Mayor Jodie Shipway, Greens Senator for Queensland and Co-Deputy Australian Greens Leader Larissa Waters, Share the Dignity Founder Rochelle Gilbert (nee Courtenay) and disability advocate and candidate for Dickson Ali France.

They will share their insights and experiences, and ideas on how the community can work together to #breakthebias and become actively engaged in the political decision-making processes that affects the lives of women.

The event is also a chance to enjoy high tea and the company of other like-minded women.

SIMNI President Chris Knight said the organisation, which is a service club for women of all ages who want to share their skills to improve the lives of women and girls in the local and global community, would also recognise four women in its annual International Women’s Day awards.

The categories are Woman of the Year, Young Woman of the Year, Business Woman of the Year and Community Volunteer.

Tickets are still available for the event and cost $39. For more information, phone Marney on 0407 029 943. Check out the page on Facebook
