Hiring starts for new Maccas

Construction has started on the new $7.1 million McDonald’s in Lawnton - which is now hiring staff.

Around 100 jobs are being created during the building work and a further 120 when the restaurant opens at 868 Gympie Rd.

It will be owned and operated by Gary Coyne, who joined McDonald’s as a licensee 29 years ago and now employs more than 950 at nine outlets in Moreton Bay.

Mr Coyne has restaurants at Dakabin, Deception Bay, Kallangur, Murrumba Downs, North Lakes, North Lakes Business Park, North Lakes Westfield, Strathpine and Warner.

McDonald’s is hiring for a variety of crew, barista, management and maintenance roles in restaurants across Moreton Bay. For details or to apply, click here.

“We are excited to start construction on a new restaurant in Moreton Bay and create 100 construction jobs, as well as 120 operational jobs once the restaurant opens,” he said.

“McDonald’s Lawnton is committed to playing an active role in the local community through providing jobs, training and development opportunities, as well as supporting local causes and groups that are important to our customers and people.”

McDonald’s Lawnton will have modern décor and feature a dual lane drive thru, dedicated partner delivery room, McCafe and PlayPlace for customers to enjoy.

It will also have solar panels, a heat recovery water system and LED lighting, helping to reduce emissions and energy use in the restaurant.

McDonald’s plans to open 100 new restaurants and remodel half its existing restaurants by the end of 2025, investing more than $1 billion and creating over 40,000 new jobs.
