Masters move for three more years

Softball Queensland’s biggest tournament is back in the City of Moreton Bay this weekend, for a third time since 2019 - and a deal struck for three more years.

Two venues will host the 23rd Masters Tournament from tomorrow until Sunday (August 4-6) with more than 1800 competitors taking part.

More than 350 matches will be held at Talobilla Park, Kippa-Ring and at Dances Road Sports Fields in Caboolture from 8am each day.

Grand Finals of all 17 women’s divisions and eight men’s divisions are expected to start at 3pm on Sunday.

Moreton Bay City Council partnered with Softball Queensland to host the event in 2019, 2022 and again this year. It was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID.

The tournament has grown significantly in that time, now operating across Redcliffe Leagues and Caboolture Sport Softball Associations, Padres baseball and Dolphins soccer fields.

Moreton Bay City Council has also agreed to financially support the Masters tournaments in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Over that time there are plans to increase the number of teams coming from all over Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and New Zealand.
