Protect nature these school holidays

Conservation Volunteers Australia is hosting a free Nature Blocks school holiday event at The Hideout Coffee House in Narangba on January 9.

This event is designed to give children some school holiday fun while rebuilding nature.

Nature Blocks provide food and shelter for native species and can be easily implemented, such as planting a few native plants.

You can also create Nature Blocks by adding habitat elements to a pot, including a water source and some shelter like rocks, sticks and mulch.

The event will teach children about local wildlife and habitats before offering hands-on Nature Block activities, where participants will get the opportunity to build their own native habitat at The Hideout Coffee House.

All registered participants will receive planters to take home, which will allow them to build their own Nature Blocks.
