Road safety forums to protect elderly drivers

Three road safety forums will be held across Moreton Bay next month in a bid to keep elderly drivers safe on the road.

Forums will be held in Caboolture, Lawnton and Kallangur, providing multiple opportunities for residents across the region to attend.

Senior-Constable Ricky Blanckensee from Moreton Police says the forums will coincide with Queensland Seniors Month.

“We’re inviting locals seniors to attend the Seniors Road Safety Forums held across the Moreton District in October,” Senior-Constable Blanckensee says.

“There will be guest speakers and exhibitors, with a free morning tea available.

“The forums coincide with Queensland Seniors Month and are a means to partner with the regional services, Department of Transport and Main Roads, Queensland Police Service, and senior residents from across the Moreton District.”

Some of the topics that will be discussed include a road rule refresher, tips on what to do in the event of a traffic crash, safer living information, as well a wide range of supporting services that will be there on the day.
