Who’s Who in 2022, Business: Kel Patch

For almost 19 years, Kel Patch helped Caboolture Sports Club (CSC) grow and expand, into an award-winning venue and group.

Mr Patch stepped down as CEO of the CSC Group in October after 18 years and 10 months in the role.

During that time, Caboolture Sports Club became a powerhouse in the region and state, added extensions and continued fund many sports organisations and individuals.

CSC Group also took over Centenary Lakes Bowls Club, built and opened North Lakes Sports Club and stepped into remodel Caboolture RSL into Sports Central.

He is now chair of the RDA (Regional Development Australia) Moreton Bay – a not-for-profit organisation driving regional economic development, investment and jobs.

It’s a role he took on in 2021 and now heads a committee of nine, with a passion for regional development, working together with all three levels of government to help shape the future of the Moreton Bay Region.

RDA Moreton Bay is also responsible for promoting federal government grant opportunities and helps gather regional information to inform national policy directions.

About Kel Patch

Kel Patch graduated with a Business Degree from Southern Cross University and used it to help build Caboolture Sports Club into a major not-for-profit entity.

He joined the CSC group as CEO in 2004 – eight years after it opened - and used his business and management skills to grow the club across its Station Rd site and beyond.

It now owns and operates four licenced club venues, as well as leases and permits for a further eight sporting complexes and clubhouses.

All that while continuing the club’s brief to support local sports clubs, including the six founding members, with approaching $2 million a year.

That helped Mr Patch become a director of Clubs Queensland from 2016-2020.

Caboolture Sports Club was named Queensland Club of the Year in 2019 and again in 2020 when it also collected Best Dining, Director of the Year and Support of Sport Awards.

During his time with the CSC Group, Mr Patch was named Queensland’s Club Secretary Manager of the Year in 2011 and 2017. He also received the Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary in 2017.

Mr Patch is now also listed, on LinkedIn as Managing Director of Kansco Consultancy as well as Hospitality, Sports and Leisure Manager with Paynters.
