Who’s Who in 2022, Business: Strawberry View Coffee Shack

A new paddock to plate dining experience featuring fresh strawberries has opened in the Moreton Bay Region, much to the delight of foodies.

The Strawberry View Coffee Shack opened its doors in the first half of 2022, offering a delicious menu of strawberry waffles, strawberry ice creams, and scones with strawberry jam and cream, just to name a few.

Kylie Fairweather and her husband David opened the café in mid-2022 on their family farm, Stothart Family Farm.

Kylie and David, along with their family, including Kylie’s mum, work on the farm, which is based in Bellmere.

Speaking to Moreton Daily in September, Kylie said opening the café was a dream come true.

“For the last two years during COVID, we ran a little strawberry stall where everything was takeaway,” Kylie said at the time.

“Everyone who visited kept telling us they wanted to stay and enjoy their food and a coffee, so we started thinking about an onsite café.

“We kept thinking should we or shouldn’t we, but in the end, we just looked at the view and knew this would be the spot.

“That’s when we decided to go for it and give the café a go – you never know until you give it a try.”

Kylie estimates the café uses anywhere between 100-200kgs of strawberries a day when they are in season.

Kylie makes all the scones herself, as well as the strawberry syrup that goes into the milkshakes.

About Strawberry View Coffee Shack

The Strawberry View Coffee Shack first opened its doors in 2022 to a fanfare of foodies all wanting to try their menu.

Since opening, Kylie’s team of hospitality workers has grown from five staff to 12, to keep up with demand.

The coffee shack overlooks the strawberry runners and the Glasshouse Mountains, and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas.

There is also a small playground next to the café to entertain the kids.

Stothart Family Farm also pack strawberries that are sold in Coles Supermarkets under the name Taste N See, which is a collaboration with TSL Family Farms, located next door.

Together, the two farms are among the largest producers of strawberries in South East Queensland.

Their strawberry punnets are sold in Coles Supermarkets as far north as Townsville, as well as throughout New South Wales and Victoria.
