Who’s Who in 2022, Tourism: Oriana Wyrozebska

Oriana Wyrozebska is helping spread the word about the wonders of the Moreton Bay Region – at home and overseas.

As General Manager of Tourism and Investment at Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT), Oriana recently joined a trade mission to New Zealand.

Led by Mayor Peter Flannery, the team of five met with more than 70 business leaders, financiers, architects and designers to highlight Moreton Bay products and opportunities.

Oriana said the high-powered talks helped them connect with outbound agents showcase this region’s “unique offering” and learn about indigenous tourism possibilities in Moreton Bay.

She said at the time: “MBRIT looks forward to showcasing the region to New Zealanders and encouraging them to put Moreton Bay on their bucket list.

“The Moreton Bay Region is known for its amazing natural attractions and experiences including pristine waterways and beaches, stunning lookouts, abundant wildlife, and intriguing festivals and events.”

Oriana leads the organisation's destination management, business engagement and innovation portfolios for MBRIT – the region’s official local tourism organisation.

She has spent her career setting up networks across a broad range of industries and growing relationships with stakeholders locally and abroad.

That has included invitations to speak at local business groups including the chambers of commerce at Samford and the Hills and Districts.

Her passion is growing the appeal of tourist destinations and delivering an economic impact to those areas.

Indeed, members of Oriana's  team recently celebrated winning silver for their Outstanding Contribution by a Volunteer or Volunteer group at the 2022 Queensland Tourism Awards.

MBRIT has also won gold and bronze at the same awards for events and destination marketing in previous years.

Oriana brings a wealth of experience to the role having led projects and teams across Europe working for leading NYSE Fortune 500 real estate services company JLL Hotels for six years in both London and Brisbane.

Returning to Australia, Oriana held positions at Queensland Rail, Transport and Main Roads and the Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA).

During her eight-year tenure at BEDA she led Brisbane’s hotel investment attraction strategy, that resulted in the city attracting more than 5000 new hotel rooms.

That, in turn, delivered an economic value of $5.4 billion to the Brisbane economy.
