Work to start on $540,000 upgrade

Work will start next month to improve safety at a busy intersection in Kallangur.

The $540,000 project will update traffic signals to control right turns from Anzac Ave into Duffield Rd and extend the right-turn lane for motorists waiting to turn.

Construction will take around eight weeks to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Work will be staged at night to reduce impacts to nearby businesses, residents and motorists, with occasional day work if required.

"We know how important Anzac Avenue is for residents in the Redcliffe Peninsula and surrounding suburbs to access the Bruce Highway,” Minister for Transport and Main Roads Mark Bailey said.

"These works will include high-benefit, cost-effective improvements at known and potential crash locations.

"Once complete, this busy intersection will be safer for the close to 24,000 vehicles travelling through the area everyday".

Safety improvements costing $2 million at the junction of Anzac Ave and Victoria Ave were completed last year.
